BRONX, NY. (September 8, 2026)- On Sunday, September 6, Elvis Crespo returned to the Bronx for an unforgettable closing performance at the Bronx Summer Concert Series Grand Finale at Orchard Beach, bringing thousands of fans together for a night filled with music, dancing, pride, and energy. The Bronx Summer Concert Series Grand Finale at Orchard Beach was organized by Bronx Borough President Vanessa L. Gibson, NYC Parks, New York City Tourism, and La X 96.3 FM, among other distinguished sponsors.
Held at the Orchard Beach Pavilion, the Bronx’s historic beachfront destination inside Pelham Bay Park, the event marked the closing celebration of one of the borough’s most cherished free summer traditions. For more than 40 years, this stage has stood as a gathering place for families, music lovers, and generations of Bronx residents who come to celebrate culture by the water.
And this year, the finale had a special kind of electricity. With beautiful weather, a massive crowd, and the shoreline as the backdrop, Crespo delivered a performance that felt both celebratory and deeply personal. Known around the world for bringing merengue to global audiences, Elvis came home to a community that has long danced to his music at family parties, block gatherings, weddings, clubs, festivals, and summer nights just like this one.
His set brought the crowd to life from the first notes. Fans sang along, danced shoulder to shoulder, waved their flags, and celebrated a sound that has crossed generations without losing its heartbeat. Crespo performed many of the songs that have made him one of Latin music’s most recognizable voices including “Nuestra Canción”, “Píntame”, “Suavemente”, while also introducing his new single, “Pa Bailar” (“To Dance”) a fitting anthem for a night that rarely stopped moving, set to release on September 17.
The Orchard Beach stage carries its own musical history. Over the decades, it has welcomed legendary figures including Héctor Lavoe, Johnny Pacheco, Tito Puente, Rubén Blades, and Bronx-born musician and producer Willie Colón. On Sunday night, Elvis Crespo added his name to that legacy with a finale performance built on joy, movement, and connection.
In a meaningful tribute to the history of the stage, Crespo’s wardrobe included a respectful nod to the late Héctor Lavoe, “El Cantante,” echoing the iconic style Lavoe wore during his own Orchard Beach performance 40 years ago. It was a quiet but powerful gesture of one artist honoring another.
